Flannel quilt made out of leftovers

I had heaps of flannelette left over from making baby sleeping bags for one of the girls in my mothers' group, and I didn't know what to do with it. I asked her if she wanted it back, and she replied, "No, just keep it and make something with it."

So I did! I made her this lap quilt in a log cabin style, which turned out way better than I thought, except that I made a big mess of the binding because the flannel was way too stretchy around the edges. Still, it's very soft and snuggly! And a great way to use up a couple of metres of flannelette that would otherwise have been chucked out. She's popping around on Thursday to drop something off so I'll surprise her with it then. I hope she likes it!
