Cheap and cheerful scrap quilt for a little lady!

So my friend had her baby 10 days early, so I really had to scramble to get this quilt finished to give it to her!

It's a true scrap quilt, no pattern, just slash and sew, used up all the little bits and pieces of fabric I already had leftover from other projects. I really enjoyed making this, everything just came together so perfectly - the piecing, the basting, the quilting and the binding. And she absolutely loves it.

Gorgeous simple baby boy quilt...

Just found out that my friend had another baby - her third boy! - so I whipped up this really gorgeous cot-sized quilt in about two days flat.

It was incredibly easy to put together, just 6x7 of 6.5" squares, all scraps. I love the little cars! I cut those out of a doona set I found at Vinnie's. Then I quilted it with diagonal lines using my walking foot. It's backed with one of our old cot sheets.

Oh and it looks a bit wrinkly because I washed it to get rid of the chalk where I drew in the diagonal lines before quilting it. :)
